Artist's Statement:  Julia Cornelius, Visual Studies

 

Coming from a very rural, conservative, and secular family, I had a lot to learn about Jewish culture as well as left-wing politics. Working with the Kleiners, I discovered, along with a love of art, we also shared a similar family structure. Despite the extreme differences in politics, my family displays just as much enthusiasm for their beliefs as Bob and Fran have, and continue to do now. In order to more thoroughly understand the history of the Left, I found it helpful to compile major events on a timeline. I have included Bob and Fran’s historical moments as well.
