Dr. Robert Kleiner was born 1925 in a middle class, predominantly Jewish area of the West Side of Manhattan. He attended the City College of New York until he joined the army in 1943. When Dr. Kleiner returned to the City College after his time in the army, he met his wife, Frances Kleiner. He went on to obtain his Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kleiner taught sociology and social psychology at Temple University for thirty years, and continues to be very active in his political beliefs.  He has been a member of the Sholem Aleichem Club since the early 1970’s.
